Mazooma Interactive Games (MIG)
Not to be confused with the mobile phone recycling outfit with the similar name - Mazuma - Mazooma develops online and mobile slots for casinos.
It's been around for years and has therefore built up a reputation for no-nonsense games. In fact, so good is Mazooma's pedigree that it was snapped up by Novomatic to form part of its group of companies.
The future is looking bright for Mazooma Interactive Games, it seems.
About Mazooma
Mazooma Interactive Games was founded in 1997 just as the first online casinos were hitting the Internet. They'd be around a while producing video slots for land-based casinos, but the formation of MIG launched the firm into the virtual gaming stratosphere.
Already producing slot machines under its Astra Games Ltd parent, the whole firm was taken over by Novomatic in 2004. In turn, Astra was an asset in itself taking over rival gaming firms like fruit machine manufacturer, Bell-Fruit Games.
In 2009, Mazooma made the decision to relaunch as a digital games provider to online casinos. It had already secured a deal to supply video slots terminals to Coral on the high-street as the controversial FOBTs (Fixed Odds Betting Terminals) took hold in bookies shops up and down the US.
Further partnerships sprung up, notably 888 in 2011, and Unibet and Sky Vegas.
While the game of Monopoly continued until 2012, the long-and-short means that Mazooma Interactive is now nestled comfortably under the Novomatic umbrella where it remains to this day.
Since the takeover, Mazooma has formed partnerships with some of the Internet's leading online casinos. William Hill and PaddyPowerGames now join Unibet, Sky Vegas and Ladbrokes in carrying MIG products in one form or another.
Licensed in Alderney and the US, more recently Mazooma has put focus on their social gaming aspect. The 'Community Gaming' angle, where players can chat to one another, is in evidence at sites like Sky Vegas, which carries over a dozen Mazooma games at the moment.
